Is this also the engine that was sucking oil?
You might need to change the oil and put in the correct amount
of oil called for, then mark the stick in the right spot, that's the
old way they would mark the stick on semi truck engines

From the flange ...

 - to the tip - roughly 21"
 - to the low hole - 20.5"
 - to the full hole - 19.25"

This was measured on the dipstick from a J20A engined 2.0 Suzuki Grand Vitara - should be the same engine in the Tracker.

Yep the dipstick was too short but it didn't cause the stuck ring, low #4 compression or a injector to not fire. Even with a metered 5.5 quarts of oil the crankcase was still getting blow-by. And #4 is still not fueling,I hope to work on it in a few days.

I did run the engine a quart over full and resulted in a slow to rev engine and hopefully no internal damage. I was assured it was the correct dipstick early on in this daboggle.
