2 rear axle seals???

2 rear axle seals???

why is there an inner axle seal on my 98 tracker?  Don't the bearings need oil.  The new seal semms like it won't let that happen.  Am I being crazy here ??? :P

If they are like my 87 Sammy, NO.
They are packed & sealed like a wheel bearing on a front wheel drive vehicle.
When I did mine awhile back, some one had put "Double Seals" in the axle tube.
I think they may have done this as the seal lips were opposite of each other to keep
water out of the diff carrier ?!!
