snapped cv shaft
« on: March 26, 2011, 08:46:53 PM »
i put my 1995 4dr sidekick in 4 wheel drive and it didnt engage and i come to find out that i snapped the driver side cv shaft where the spring clip is. i should mention that it has a strut mount flip 1.5" coil spacer and ome heavy duty strut. when it was at full flex the retainer would barely keep the shaft from popping out. The last half inch or so of the shaft stayed in there. i was wondering if anybody had similiar experiences by the way my name is steven.

I thought the OME struts were already lengthened and you didn't need to do a spacer lift.  Could be wrong though, but it sounds like you over-extended your front suspension.  A set of limiting straps should stop this from happening in the future.

Just un-flip the strut mounts
