Thnx for the info, I hadnt really looked at how much room there is, I have a trick for measuring the available space(used during constructing composite aircraft wings).

Now that sounds interesting.

We use small foam blocks hot glued down with a finishing nail sticking out of the top, then close the mold halves and you have the exact distance by measuring how far the nail was pushed into the foam, I will use the same approach to find the underhood clearance.

That sounds easier than the way I did it. Another point for you for a good tip!

Here's a tip for you talonxracer: I got my adjustable aluminum strut brace ( just the center section) off ebay for $6 + shipping. All I had to do was build the tower mounts. It was for an Acura I believe. Having it with adjustable ends makes service work a bunch easier, and if you do happen to do any strut or coil work those towers will move about some. Adjustability at the brace just makes it a lot easier to re-mount everything. You can also just unbolt one side and lift it out of the way for other service work. There's some pics of mine in the archiives somewhere.
