I'm looking for a rear axle for my 87 4x4 suzuki samurai. I don't know a lot of the techincal specs, but if they're needed to help answer my question I will get it.

I need to know what axles from other trucks are compatible with mine. Preferably with no modifications.

Are you looking to swap out the entire rear axle or just need some axle shafts?

I want to swap out the entire rear axle if I can find something that will fit. I'm hoping to find some other models that will be a perfect fit. That will open up my options instead of looking for just an 87 samurai axle.

I should have been more specific. I want to replace the entire rear end basically. Is there any rear ends that bolt up (without modification) to a 87 samurai (besides a 87 samurai)?

86 and newer samurai rears are all a good fit. If you need a stock geared axle.
 71 and 72 cj5 are the closest non Zuke fit. But gear matching the front axle may be required.....Boxcar...

They are centered rear axles as well right?

You can call Trail Tough and get a cut down Toyota axle that is the same width.  You might be better off looking at swapping both axles so you can get a matching set.

86-88 samurai rear axles will be identical.  In 88.5 they changed the bolt pattern on the pinion flange (larger and used bigger bolts).  They also went from 2 rear brake lines from the frame to the axle, instead of one.
For the pinion flange difference, you can simply drill the smaller/early bolt pattern into the larger/later pinion flange.  Just use the driveshaft end for a template to mark/drill the holes.
For the brake lines, you could swap the lines from your old axle, or redo the brake lines on the newer axle.
So bottom line.....86-88 is identical....88.5-95 will take some adapting.

No, Drone there off set just like a Zuke.......In fact any CJ5 that ran the Dana 18 t - case will be off set to the passenger side.
 Its the later Dana 20 T - case CJ's that were centered.
 I have a set of CJ's on my deck right now being prepped for a swap. I'll get some pics posted up soon.
 They are as near a direct swap as you will find.
 4.88 gears / same width as the zuke Bigger  brakes / legendairy toughens, all for $300....
 Try to find a pair of cut down Yotas as strong and as inexpensive as Jeep axles.
