88 Zuki Crappy Carb?
« on: November 08, 2004, 04:44:32 AM »
Ok - throttle pedal - First 1/2 no problem - accelerates as much as a 1.3l on 32's can. Second 1/2 - nothing. Not there - just makes the carb load up and choke. Starts sputtering and coughing. Is THE secondary not opening? A vaccum line?

This tiny thing is confusing me - I've only ever worked on my 304 with a 4 bbl and I've never had a 'too much fuel' problem.

Well if you're not comfortable with that. Give Hawk Strictly Suzuki a call 888 SAMURAI they can help you over the phone. However, it may not be a broken part. Check all of your vacuum lines to make sure they are connected in the right place and in good shape. ALso, when is the last time you changed the fuel filter? Maybe bad gas?

Good luck,  -Eric

I'm comfortable with it - I was only playing - sorry - way to flirtatious natural for a new board.

I don't have a vaccum diagram - so I have no idea if they are in the right places.

I changed the fuel filter 2 weeks ago.

Nope - been there since I got it two months ago - really noticed a change when upgraded from stock tires to 32's.

It has been getting a little worse as time goes by.

I changed it - hoping it would make a difference - it did get a little better - but not enough to write home about.

Changed the spark plugs at the same time - no change there. (they were black though ;) )

Raven,

I just sent you an e-mail with a vacuum hose diagram.

Mel Taylor
When you hold the shift key down and type 4X4 it comes out $X$. Could anything be more appropriate?

The first give away is that the flow restrictor/check valve for the vacuum secondaries is gone and bypassed. You know, the 'hop up' mod... :)
