I dont know about the Limited slip and the gears but I think they would work. I have a locker and the gears that were in my 89 housing in a XL-7 housing in my anvil. When I originally spoke to Steve about the heavy duty shafts he said that you had to use them with the early year Kick Drums but the hosing on the 97 axle was fine. I dont know if the rear axles or brake size changed from 97 to 2000 or not.

Why no 2002?  Did the rear ends change?  Are they referring to the bolts that hold the pumpkin to the housing?

Hi
Later models are 3 inches wider than the Sidekicks so I’m not sure those axles will fit. I believe your diff ratio is 4.625 (well maybe) so swapping in 5.12 ratios might be enough.

In 2001 or 2002 the rear axels are longer, at least the right (pass) side than the earlier years.  Just had replace a broken one on my 2002.

Also, at the same year model the rear carrier was redsigned and bcame smaller with a smaller diameter ring gear.  I just installed an ARB in the rear and discover this change the hard way.  Had to get a third member from a 1998 or earlier for the ARB to fit trhough the ring gear.  The best place for fitment information I found was Hawk.  I lot of folks think but don't really know, they do.

Stock R&P on a 2 doors vitara with manual tranny is 4.875:1 and if i put 5.12:1 is enough for...

26"(stock tires) X 5.125(new R&P) / 4.875(stock R&P) = ................ONLY turn 27.34" tires :-/

Calmini put 5.83:1 R&P and lsd on the vitara extreme!

26"(stock tires) x 5.83(newR&P) / 4.875(stock R&P)

=....................31.1" it's that i want, 31" tires!!!

For the axles your probably right. I will mesure this on father's 99tracker tonight.

OK now with 27" tires...

27"(stock tires) X 5.125(new R&P) / 4.875(stock R&P) = ................ONLY turn 28.38" tires

and with5.83:1 gears...

27"(stock tires) X 5.83(new R&P) / 4.875(stock R&P) = ................you can turn 32.28" tires  ;D

and your speedo are right!

I have 31's on my Auto GV.  Stock R&P was 4.88, and I swapped in 5.12's.  Works, but the 5.83's would have made it correct.
