2000 2.0 head leak?
« on: September 13, 2003, 02:35:49 PM »
???Just wondering, my 2000 Tracker 2.0 16V, has a very slight leak coming form the metal pipe that runs from the upper radiator hose and goes to the back of the head, it's probably just a crushed "O" ring, and it's probably been doing it since it was new, but with only 100 miles to go until the warrenty expires, I figure I'd better bring it in to the dealer for them to look at it before it hits 39,000 miles.  Have any of you ever had this happen to your rigs? ::)  Just wondering ;D  Thanks,  Dave

Yes, get it to the dealer ASAP!

On my '94 Sidekick, I had a very slow coolant leak around the back of the cylinder head. Last year I used about a third of a small bottle of Bar's Leaks and the leak stopped. I see no sign of plugging in the heater or radiator core.

Yeah, that Bars Leaks is really some good stuff, I got an extra year out of my head gasket on my Trooper before it finally had to be done.  Thanks for the input ;D                Dave

So, I took it to the dealer today and they have to special order the gasket, it's fully covered under warrenty which is great ;D  Apparently this doesn't happen too often,  and hopefully soon it'll be done.     Dave
