I just now decided to observe the exact rpm I run at 65 miles an hour... 3000 exactly

I didn't look at my RPM at 94 or 95 which is the fastest I've had my GV but I'm sure it was over 4000. I have stock tires and gears, i guess they just put pretty low gearing on GV's. I can get over 22miles a gallon too with my 2.5 litre because I have custom exhaust and some intake modding.. yea, I love my zuk

My 8V Vit in stock form would easily do an indicated 90mph on the flat and 100mph with a little downhill assistance, a stock 16V should manage it no problems. Steering is a little vague.

100+ MPH in a Track\Kick i just plain scary looking\feeling.

lol.  Ask me how I know.

The 2.0 V6 model has 2" wider track which helps and the longer wheelbase over the 2 door model also helps and it also sits 1/2" lower. The other plus is that it runs 16" rims so it has the same brakes as the GV. It still had more to go and felt fine but I didn't really want to risk it any further as there were a few cops on the road that day.

think you'll find they aren't the same brakes as a GV, you can still run 15' rims.

I think the 2l v6 is going to be a good platform to build on.

Went and had another look in the book and it lists both the 2.0 V6 and the GV as having 310mm or 12.2" dia. rotors.

ok at that speed you really dont want to see wind, i dont dought the little buggers will do it happily, however it is an inanimate object and would happily jump off a cliff if so steered and inclined.  that bieng said i will take my turbo pocket bike to 50+mph at just over 27INches from the ground to the top of my helment and people say I am crazy, if you dont know what a pocket bike is search it on google from asphault to top of tire is 12 inches.  so fast so fun,  and its only 49 cc  wait tell i get the minni 110cc motor and it has a 3speed tranny....   ok so maby i am a little crazy   but definatly adicted to speed.

and I dont like driveing the kick at 60 with a decent wind it will blow you acrost the road.   however i have had it up to 90 to agree that steering is vague at the most.

All things must start and end, the key is to not let them start and end in the same place.

Other rigs, 84 Sub 305 High output dana 44 front dana 60 rear turbo 350 tranny, 205 gear drive transfer, 10" lift 38.5 swampers

I would have to agree about the wind statement...

Going 75-80 and the wind was really bad a month or so back...

I was pushed one lane over....

even going 50-60 was a challenge...

I can only imagine with my car lifted what it would have been like

My wife has you all beat. :P

About 2 months after we got the GV last spring she says to me, "would you be angry if I told you the GV goes 130mph?" :o

She found a straight section of road and floored it to see how fast she'd go.

I told her to PLEASE PLEASE never do that again. :-X  The idea of going 30mph faster than what the tires are speed rated for is disconcerting to say the least.

Nice score on the gears.  Those things are as rare as can be now.

I did 110mph in a v10 ford uhaul cube van las october 28th,  full of stuff, my dad was driving my bimmer and had the nerve to pass me.  catching up at about 80 both the mirrors folded in and couldnt reach them to push them out, so the only way I could get out of the fast lane was to go even faster till i passed everyone and I could safely transfer back to the right side.... looking back, it was kinda fun,  but thought the puddings gonna hit the fan when I couldnt look behind me

you are freaking insane.. 110 is allot for a car let alone a U haul. I didn't even know a GV could do 130. I am impressed, I am not likely to try it since it feels insane at 95 on smooth pavement. GV's aren't exactly made for speed if you know what I mean.. it can scoot pretty decent but doesn't handle 80 and above the greatest

I've had it up to about 90-95 when it was on the stock carish tires and it felt pretty good.  Don't feel any need to go faster though.  She sensed how serious I was about it so I'm pretty sure she won't feel the need to go that fast again.  At least the much heavier and taller mud tires won't let her go quite as fast. :P

well yea, 110 in a U haul is freaking awesome.. mostly because it's insane

and I handle 95 pretty well, not great, if the road is really really smooth, like brand new pavement. on rutted roads anything over 75 is really stupid in a GV

Over here tyres have to have a speed rating that matches the maximum speed of the vehicle.

I agree with the comment about wind, it can get pretty scary even at modest speeds.

;)My wife and I regularly run 70+ with the cruise on, on our way up to Paragon. As long as I have the tire pressures correct It seems fine. I do have to relax my grip on the wheel to not over steer with the 31's though.  With the 225 AT's I've hit 100+, would'nt do it again!

Hello,

My 95 16v would run over a 100 mph...The 90 I have now will run at max 85-90,I'm sure with the larger tires it will be a dog...Be lucky to go 75,I'm hoping to take it on a trip in april to zuwharrie in nc.
