Definately worth the swap! It makes the zuk alot more driveable. I did the 16 valve swap, and I wish I had done it sooner. I had to wait for the funds to allow. Keep driving the zuk while you locate a deal on the parts rig, and save a little extra for the big day. I would try to get a complete parts vehicle, simply for the fact that it is complete. You can always wheel and deal with the leftover parts to make up for the expense of it. I went with trail toughs kit and wiring, I am not a mechanic, but I would easily do it again. If you have a little help, or know your rig, it will be no problem. The wiring seems a little overwhelming, but I just sent it to trail tough and let them modify it for my rig. It is very well laid out and marked for a nearly fool proof hookup. As far as the fuel pump, mine was carb'd too, I went with the trail tough, and used the one they sell. It is a little noisy, so I would check into possibly getting a samurai efi tank and pump. Again, just run a couple of wires to it. The wiring harness has a lead to use so the pump gets power when needed. Do a little searching on some sites and read everything you can, to understand better. Don't be scared. It is not that bad at all. Check with trail tough for more info, advice and any help. They are very informative and patient. Overall, I spent about $700 on the kit, wiring, fuel pump, and centerforce clutch. As for the donor vehicle, it can very greatly, just keep your eyes peeled for a deal. I found mine at a small town body shop/salvage yard. The swap could be done in a short weekend, if you have all of your parts ready. Your zuk will be like a night and day difference. You will benefit on inclines, low rpm power, and reliability just to name a few. I am running 31's and a spoa, all of the gearing is stock. It will make you zuk more fun. DO IT.
