« on: June 02, 2005, 11:40:33 AM »
Hey everyone, i know that this has been covered a few times but i cant seem to find the threads,

right now i have a 3" body lift and im wanting to put in some 2" coil spacers

i think i have almost everything soreted out, strut spacers, rear shocks etc. but the one thing im not sure about is brake lines am i going to have to do anythign with them? (extend etc.)

or if you guys see anything else that i may encounter it woudl be awesome if you said somethin ;) :) thanks

my lug nuts require more torque then my engine makes ;)

Your brake lines should be fine.  The front ones will extend beyond the point of the CV's and the rear is good for more then a 2" lift, I have a 6" lift on the rear of mine and it just long enough.  :)

What we usually do here is to relocate the brake line hose (just on the front left side) by drilling a new hole on the body to keep the brake line lock in the stock position.

I haven't done it on mine (tho I only have a 2" BL) but when I have the time I'll get it done.

I've been running for a while now without relocating but I just want to be on the safe side that's why I'll still relocate. Also a friend told me the reason there's a lock there is to keep the stress on the brake line evenly distributed (at the connection to the body & the lock vs. just the connection to the body)...

Did I just explain that clearly? I'm not sure if I understand what I just described ;D

The fronts will be fine, you might want to unclip them from the strutt.

The rears will probably be fine too.

I don't think we extended ours until we lifted it up 3 inches or more AND extended the wheelbase.

You might be able to get away with just reloacting the mounting bracket on the frame.
