Suzuki Swift Sport
The three-door Swift Sport gets more dynamic styling and a more powerful engine than the standard Swift. The Swift Sport gets the 125hp, 1.6-liter gasoline engine in the Swift Sport sold in Japan. Sales start shortly after the Paris show.

 Suzuki Splash
The Splash is a design study for a new car that will join the Swift, Grand Vitara, and SX4 in the Japanese carmaker's lineup. Based on the Swift small-car's platform, the five-seat Splash has a large, bold-looking grille and a tall, minivan-style body. The Splash has a 1.2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

It is the 'M' series engine i.e. M16A. Same series as used in their other small cars now and the later Jimnys. The Swift Sport has just recently gone on sale here but the SX4 is still a little way off and we still don't know for sure whether we ill get the 2.0 version.

The only thing I'm interested in is if they come out with a Jimny for North America or a ladder frame Vitara. I hate to say it but Suzuki is run by a bunch of pussies. How come Toyota can come out with a real truck like the FJ cruiser and Suzuki puts out a unibody Vitara?  >:( The reprecussions of that Consumer Reports Samurai bashing irreparably alterted the future of Suzuki 4x4's.  Ahhhh I'm sick of beating a dead horse.... All I know is I'll be driving a Toyota one day.

For it's segment, you can't really go away from a Unibody.  They just make to much sence.  And the new Vit has been getting great reviews with the ground clearence being the only soar spot.  I've even concidered picking one up myself, but keep deciding to stick with my Tracker.

They are aiming for a specific market, and that isn't the hardcore 4wheeler, sadly.  But the sales numbers show that they made the right decision for Suzuki as a company.  Don't forget, Toyota is a lot bigger then Suzuki.  Suzuki announced excellent sales of 7,940 this last month.  While this is a strong number, it is a bit lower then the 222,950 units that Toyota pushed across.  Toyota sold 12,609 Tundras alone.  Of course, that still pales compared to Fords 70,822 F-Series.

Suzuki at this point is a small fish in a very big pond.  Sure they are fun, but when you are this small you can't compete on every level with the big boys.  :)
