For it's segment, you can't really go away from a Unibody. They just make to much sence. And the new Vit has been getting great reviews with the ground clearence being the only soar spot. I've even concidered picking one up myself, but keep deciding to stick with my Tracker.
They are aiming for a specific market, and that isn't the hardcore 4wheeler, sadly. But the sales numbers show that they made the right decision for Suzuki as a company. Don't forget, Toyota is a lot bigger then Suzuki. Suzuki announced excellent sales of 7,940 this last month. While this is a strong number, it is a bit lower then the 222,950 units that Toyota pushed across. Toyota sold 12,609 Tundras alone. Of course, that still pales compared to Fords 70,822 F-Series.
Suzuki at this point is a small fish in a very big pond. Sure they are fun, but when you are this small you can't compete on every level with the big boys.
