What to use to clean soft top vinyl windows?
« on: August 08, 2012, 03:55:03 PM »
My Sammi spends its nights parked on a busy street.  My rampage top is only a little over a year old, but the windows are getting to the point where they are un-cleanable.  Suggestions welcomed.

I use Plexus.  I wipe the dirt off the windows with a wet microfiber cloth first.  Then use Plexus and another microfiber cloth to clean/polish the windows.

I'm about to attack mine with T-Cut, my biggest problem is that the vinyl has curled and gone hard.

Lemon Pledge or similar is good to clean vinyl seats and your plastic dash. Armour All or similiar tire shine products will work great to help blend out the scuffs scratches you might have on your Rampage windows.

Use it on a Microfiber towel and store the towel in a zip lock bag when your done. Save it to be used on windows only so it won't accumulate dirt that might be heavier and be more abrasive to your windows.

Once you wipe down you windows with the tire cleaner gentle polish buff them back out with another clean microfiber towel.

You will like the results...                                                                Tux...  8)

My factory top windows were pretty hazy. Figuring I had nothing to lose, I used a headlight polishing kit on mine. Worked good for as bad as mine were but obviously you'll have to decide for yourself. It may leave slight swirl marks.
