Post by: zoomzoom on February 13, 2006, 08:14:34 PM
well guys, im another one of those collage student penny penchers and need your input on a body lift. i herd a 2" is the way to go if you dont want to do a lot of work to steering and such. (thanks hobgoblin, 92Sidekick4x4). so can i do it with 2" square tubing with holes drilled and new bolts. are there any other brackets or fab work i am going to need to do for the lift. thanks a lot everybody, everyone is awsome on this forum!!!

2" isn't enough to do a budget body lift, you need to go 3" for that.  Eather way, 2" or 3" - you need to extend the shifter, the steering you may not have to, but you don't know till you do it. I don't see how it's "more" work, it's the same just an extra 1" lift. My 3" budget lift cost me total $40....

Actually, mine came out as 3 1/4 Inch Lift, perfect for the ShrockWorks bumper. (no trimming)
My center blocks are bolted down twice to the frame mount.

yeah dont use 2in sq tubing, I thought I could use those because I really didnt want a whole 3 inch body lift but found out you cant place to isolaters(rubber disks) where they are supposed to go with the 2in tubing. Save yourself the trouble and use 3in like in Heather and Nates write up.

am I the only one with 4" homemade body lifts?  I know sounds bad, but the 1/4 inch square tubing is in 6" sections, no way it's twisting

I am having a hard time understanding why you would want to body lift your vehicle 4 inches???
