You need to target your buyers, your truck
is nice and clean, and has lots of cool mods
and accents, BUT it's a long way from where
I would want a truck, so I would have to undo
lots of your body mods, the wheels and tires
are the wrong sort for my needs.
You should get a good price, but I wouldn't
be looking at it to buy.

yeah... uh
Im pretty aware that its not set up for offroading
and most offroaders would strip tons of what I got
(which is only natural)
but I wanted to get a base asking price
so you are more than welcome to voice your opinion in that department

to get the type of person to buy that that would you would have to pute some more horse power in it. like a terbo or bigger moter to make it faster. it looks like its trying to be a hot rod without the rod.
-
tried to get serious input... but oh well... :-\
*shrugs*
guess i can delete this now
thanks anyway though
-
wild told you seriously that most people that use this forum will either not get close the number you want or have no idea what so ever. the only thing i can think to find what your truck is worth is maybe going to a site that is hosted by people in your local area they might have more of an idea what something like that is worth.
otherwise you can try kbb.com and list the car in great condition and use that as your jump off point
re read your initial post. i hate to say it because you probably already know it but you will get more for alot of those parts if they are not attatched to the car.
the wheels and tires for one. also the body kit might be more valuable to someone that already has a project kick.
-
it is a nice tracker and it is in a top price market (hawaii, everything is inflated)
as you know you can never get everything back that you have into a modified car.
i would say in the states it would be around $4500.00
in hawaii you might be able to add $1500 to that, mabie?
those of course would be asking price .

thanks
you guys make good points
I just thought Id ask because you guys are totally into sidekicks/trackers
I researched the price of the stock version of my tracker in excellent condition
and it was at least 4k (already stated)
plus the rims (2500, extremely hard to find in the islands)
bodykit + custom paint (making it the only tracker with an octane kit)

6000?
-
I'll help you out I just sold mine three weeks ago. I had 20s on with bgf g force tires wheel combo at least 3000 plus. mine was lowerd and had all the raido and subs plus satalite radio. my paint was 6 months old and i had a 1997 sport 4wd with a bigger engine and front axle. I had mine on market for 3 months i started at six no calls. i ended up taked 4800 for it. so i would say if you got 4 out of it. it would be fair.
-
wow, i guess prices really vary depending where you are, around here you would probably be able to get around 8-10k for it. thats canadian btw.
-
I was thinking somewhere between 6-10
but nothing higher of course
-
How much modification was done to fit the kit? Could it be re-modified to fit back onto a civic? -I notice a fair bit of cutting/molding was done in the front bumper to fit perfectly under the grill, but that just makes it easier for the honda guys to fit different headlights ;) )
Just thinking, you could pull the kit and sell it, put the truck back to stock on the outside(put on the original bumpers, color match them), sell the rims, and then sell the truck all separate.
-
it is completely custom
the original bumpers are gone
the front and back bumpers were cut at least 3x each and then molded on
the sideskirts are completely molded on
they will only fit a tracker/sidekick now
-
I was thinking when I saw the truck
about $3500 for the clean truck, add
1500-2000 for the wheels and mods.

Well, it was a thought, and I didn't know how much was involved to put it on. I think you should list it, and see what happens, I doubt you'll get 10k for it, unless it's to an enthusiest that specifically wanted a light 4x4 to customize for the street, you could start it at 8k, and see how much interest there is.
-
well they had to take a Honda Civic Bodykit
then the front kit was cut in pieces to shorten it
meanwhile the original front bumper's top was cut
each piece was then molded together so that
it appears that the kit was made for the tracker
(http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/1/web/673000-673999/673055_330_full.jpg)
the other guy was right though
Hawaii prices can get pretty high
(because its not like we can drive out of state to get what we want)

Serious? i was looking for 20's last summer and 3 shops in L.A. told me nobody makes 20's for a Suzuki or Geo track/kick. I was pissed cause i see them on Vitaras all the time. and while i was at ASMC they had 2 XL7's with 20's in the back...i guess as show vehicles or something. either way if 20's fit on Vitara's and XL7's shouldn't they fit on sidekicks?

yeah they should
I almost bought 20s from a guy who had his on an old F150
the back cleared but the front was a little too close for MY comfort
so I opted for the 18s
heres a pic of the 20s though
(and yes, rims in 5x139 are difficult to find)

Yeah that looks hot. I would say $6000. But ask $7500 and see if you can get it...if not you stop at $6000 (and at least get what you expected for it) I have no bias when it comes to Zuki's i like them lifted, stock, and slammed. especially if they are done in good taste. yours.....i'm not sure how i truely feel about that kit. But suprisingly it works with the truck. Kinda of like a Suzuki version of the Vue Redline.

Vue Redline eh? (neat!)
and Im not one of those who get all pushed out of shape just because one
person doesnt like my ride but it does make a difference HOW they say it
thanks for being cool about it
I get tons of looks no matter where I go though.
Everyone who is familiar with a tracker knows right off what it is.
(and they like it... and want to know where they can get the parts)
the import crowd instantly recognize the kit but not the make
the older crowd (still) thinks its a scion
-
anybody else?
-
is there some sort of low rider ricer meating place on the weekends that people hang out at near you? could always try takin it there and see if you get anyone showing interest. thats how i sold my mustang ;D
-
low rider rice and meat place?
j/k :P
I knew what you meant,
I too, was thinking about that but the problem is that those guys sometimes dont have money
:(
-
haha wow i think i was tired when i typed that.
sometimes you never know a guy wanted my mustang so bad he told me to not sell it to anyone till the next weekend and when i went there to meet up with him he had sold his 96 cobra and had cash for my cobra :o he took it home that day lol
-
thats every sellers dream right there bub...

I agree with the ask $7500 take 6g's. It is a very original vehicle for someone who likes the fast and bicurious(I mean furious) look, but wants something different or with more room. I'm a big fan of the color orange so I find it more appealing to most. But, there are a couple factors that haven't been touched on, or I missed. One: where are you...I bet this car will bring 8-9 g's in a warm and affluent environment such a California, but would probably only fetch 5500-6k in a cold economically depressed area such as here in Buffalo. Second: you've done some cutting and chopping here and the quality of your body work is key. You need to take an objective walk around the car and ask yourself "can I see the seams/bondo on the cuts/joints, are there sanding marks/dirt/orange peel in the finish, and is there enough material on all areas and is it blended properly?" Third: how bad do you want the cash for it. Do you have time to take it to "ricer" car shows with a for sale sign on it and hold out until the right buyer offers you the high end of the ranges I just gave you(I would also take it to a couple of classic car shows because you might find a guy who likes it for it's originality and mpg's for a daily driver). Or, do you need to put it in the paper and get cash for it ASAP?
On a side rant, thank you for bringing your lowrider to Zukiworld. Many of us forget that this is a SUZUKI website, not an offroad website. Although we offroaders outnumber you on-road guys, your cars are just as Suzuki as ours, just as neat and original as ours, and you're contribution here just as important. Please continue to post street Zuks here too. And where are all the dudes with Swifts and Metros???!!! :D
-
20s are hard to find. i just happen to be lucky because i have a million wheels at my finger tips to try and find the right offset. I really think 6 grands would be hard to get. My experiance was everyone loved the car it got tons of looks and everyone would come by and want to drive it. But in the end no one would pony up that kind of money for a sidekick badass or not. Mine was even newer with alot more motor and it was a sport with all the power options like cruise and what not plus it had a 3 grand stero in it.

Thanks. The NSX Imora Orange took me a while to find and Im happy it turned out that nice.

I am from Hawaii. 6 years ago it seemed I had the ONLY tracker on the island. Now there are at least 10 up my hill alone! They are getting really popular although most of the drivers look like old hippies. (which I am not) They also seem to sell fast although again that is with the older crowd. (ie. stock trackers)

It is by no means "perfect" Maybe an 8 out of 10. You cant see a few imperfections in the picture although in person its that much more striking which kinda balances out. No sanding marks/dirt/bondo but keep in mind that it doesnt have the 20,000 paintjob that some people swear by. The orange peel on mine is miniscule and I havent even waxed it yet.
Third: how bad do you want the cash for it. Do you have time to take it to "ricer" car shows with a for sale sign on it and hold out until the right buyer offers you the high end of the ranges I just gave you(I would also take it to a couple of classic car shows because you might find a guy who likes it for it's originality and mpg's for a daily driver). Im definitely taking it to a "ricer" show but I just have to find the time. I basically want to sell it to someone who will appreciate it. (might be hard to find without that car show) A friend from cardomain sold his with a bodykit and the first thing the new buyer did was literally RIP it off. And I do not by any means need the money ASAP.

Its nice to know that you think of us like that. And Im sure Im not the only "street setup" member who appreciates the sentiment. Mahalo Nui Loa. Thank you very much.
(and I also agree about the swifts and metros)

This comment here tells me you don't really want to sell it, you need to stop thinking this way, or you won't till it's too late, and you get less for it. You need to sell it to the person with the money REGARDLESS what they're plans are.

sell it to whoever wants it even if they tell you they want to hammer holes in it or paint it pink and put frills on the mirrors, if you're selling it you shouldn't care about it once it's gone or it's never going anywhere.
-
true enough
the one with the money takes priority
but if it comes down to one person who will appreciate it as-is
opposed to someone who will turn it into a wood smoker but whos offering $500 more
id probably go with the first person
(if that makes any sense at all)
-
not to me, money is money, more money is better!
-
not to me, money is money, more money is better!
I hear yah... im the asian stereotype when it comes to money
but I guess it all depends on the situation
plus if they wanted a stock one... I got one of those too!
