I know I have been asking a bunch of questions and I really appreciate the answers.
I have another one.
I'm looking at a 1988 Samurai that has dual Weber 40DCOEs on it, header and a high performance cam. How much more HP and torque do you think I would get? Are the dual Weber 40DCOEs a good set up? Here are a couple of pics of the set up.

I always wanted to get the dual sidedrafts but now I think I would go with the MY-side set up instead. Not as impressive looking but seems to work better than any weber and easier to tune.

I'm pretty sure that Eric ran that set up. How much is the Sammy? that conversion on its own must be worth a few dollars.

He is wanting 3,500. It's real clean and the motor was overhauled.

Thanks for the shoutout.... :) Yeah, the sidedrafts are great (webers not mikuni, I've had both) They work really well and unlike popular belief, they can be set it and forget it. If you set it up right in the first place. My first love, Wedgee, has had sidedrafts on for at least 10 years and thousands of miles; works good. Horse power increase is there but is better when internals have been done first. Remember, timing must be addressed.
I'd be worried about that rig you're looking at because it doesn't have any air cleaners on it. Did they run it that way? Is the engine 'dusted'? That's what I'd worry about... Also, (just took a second look at pics) They've done something 'unique' with the runners. It looks like they've tapped vacuum lines or something into each runner. That would be dumb... and one would have to have those holes welded up. It's hard to tell in the pictures...

It looks like someone has added balance pipes. No reason why that wouldn't work but if the carbs are setup accurately then it shouldn't make much difference. I'd leave the takeoffs in place, maybe blank them off, they would make it really easy to hook up vacuum gauges
