I still have my factory "hoop" on as well, I use it to hold the winch rope. I'm probably going to cut it off though and cap the end of the frame (with big plastic plugs) as it gets hard packed dirt stuffed in there which is APITA to get out, I'll just leave a small drain hole instead.

im not a fan of snatch recovery, to many breakages,

you're normally pretty desperate if you're jerking the truck out like that... most people i know dont have winches, or hundreds of feet of tow rope to connect to the closest tree to use with a jackall... but ya, i'd be interested to know what you recommend doing if regular towing wont get him out... i've been in this situation many times and had to resort to "snatch recovery"... only other idea i ever had was to hook a bunch of trucks together in a big train to get pulled out, but normally there isnt room for that (or enough chain and ropes)

and "mudfkr" did water pour into your gas tank when you were stuck in that pic? it looks pretty bad :-/

Not my tank thats my mates rig, but yes he learned that a push fit cap and water is not a good mix. This was the first trip out after we "dried" it out after recovering it from under 8' of water a few weeks earlier. He's a bit of a slooow  learner  ;D

I perfer snatch strap recovery over winching and other forms. Quick, Easy, and a 2500# Kick can pull a 6500# full size without anchoring to a tree.

I don't like the tweeking of the frame
that a pull like that can cause, mine
never steers the same after I pull
someone out of the mud

This is how I cured the weak stock pulls
