94 tracker drive it without rear a-arm hooked up?
« on: May 03, 2007, 09:07:16 AM »
I lifted my 94 tracker and in the process of replacing the a-arm spacer I made with a better designed one I broke off 3 bolts into the diff (got another diff with 5.12's coming) not a big deal since I was getting new diffs to upgrade to 5.12s' from 4.62's anyhow.  But here is the deal I have about a 200-300 foot driveway. I need to move the tracker about 150 feet would it be a big issue if I drove it without the rear a-arm spacer to where I need it to be?

would be nice if I didnt need that damn thing, I miss driving my truck until my new parts get here.

Without the rear A arm fitted I wouldn't risk it. The rear axle is likely to rotate and rip out the prop and brake lines and also bend the shocks. I guess that you could lash it in place but I'd still be inclined to get a few friends round and push it.

don't do it!   My 2" spacer on the rear diff failed coz it was a solid block with 3" bolts that were too long and not up to the strain; I had to drive it very slowly to the road to get recovered; body sways laterally, and risks of twisting the axel etc

That doesn't sound to bad it would proly be the way to do it. I dont see any problem with it cause there wouldnt be and torque going to the rear. This may sound dumb but the problem i would see with that is possibly when you hit the brakes. but the rear only does like 10-15 percent of you braking so i dont know.
