« on: March 24, 2008, 05:55:00 PM »
did this conversion and i have had problem after problem. the latest seems to be that my temperature gauge will not work. it has not worked since i did the wire harness and computer swap. anyone else have this problem or know why it wont work? called brent at trail tough and told me that it should work with the new harness. my temperature gauge was working just fine before i did the swap?? anyone know what might be wrong?

One thing to check is resistance at the sensor.  It may be that your sensor has simply gone bad.

Some 1.3 and 1.6 sensors are different. I can't remember which models are affected, I just swapped mine over to be sure.

Yeah if you have the 1.3 still try switching the sensor so it matches the rig not the engine

The 1.3 had a lower t-stat and the guage will read higher if you use the 1.6 sensor and the
1.6 t-stat.

Look for bad connector and or broken sensor blade, common problem,
that and the blade on the sensor gets loose and makes the guage act
wierd.
