80/90 Valvoline in differentials and tranny.....

85/140 Valvoline in tcases...

I haven't put synthetic in, but I should.

I run 10/30 semi-synthetic (Quaker 4x4 oil) in my engine.

No need to put Lucas additives in with synthetic gear oil, its probably not even recommended. I run synthetic in the diffs/tranny and transfer case. Shell Rotella (dino) 15/40 with Lucas additive in the engine.

I'm running crude right now but have thought about synthetic at least for the diffs & TC; I doubt I'd ever run synthetic in my 155K auto, but would if I ever rebuild or replace it.

Anyone have any comments about switching to synthetic: pros/cons?  I know some people swear everything runs quieter and some have claimed improved MPG.

bottom of the line crappy tire gear oil but I replace it frequently since i do alot of mud and water crossing,

crappy tire 10W 30 in the crankcase every 3000k
that's the samurai for ya

in my turbo'ed 323 I use castrol 10W30 with a litre of synthetic, mobil 1 or castrol syntec. nothing but the best

I run Mobile synthetic in dif's and tranny.  I use the 5w30 in the crankcase since I can't brake the crankshaft nut to replace the leaking seal.  Any suggestions on how to do this?

Get a 90 90 wrench ( where the heads are 90* to the wrench body) and a breaker bar. That should do you fine.

Don't you have to lock the flywheel?

on breaking the nut loose, try heating it up good with torch but not too hot where you fry the rest of the seal, then let it cool over night and try to loosen it in the morning, put it in fourth gear and block the tires, the next thing would be to try a small impact on it on low, if you have room you could hit the head of the bolt with an air hammer a couple of times to shock the threads, and last drill a small hole in it and put some liquid wrench through the hole and let it set a while, then repeat if not off yet ;D
