strut spacers?
« on: September 20, 2009, 12:15:06 PM »
I have installed 4 1.5" coil spacers on my 4 door 93 sidekick with Crown Vic rear shocks and everything seems fine and dandy, but I have read that everyone is recommending flipping the front struts and/or installing strut spacers on the front. Is this necessary or am I good to go with what I have? I dont do any "wheeling" but drive a ton on deep sand (I have also chopped the top and welded in some roll bars for a great beach buggy) and lots of washboard. Should I be worried?

you should do this to restore the droop availalbe in the strut; either flip, or buy & fit spacers

you will then need some camber bolts

also you are advised to get a spacer for the top of the rear diff rose joint

these 3 mods make a real difference and finish what you have started off well

you might want to consider bump stop extensions dependant on what tyres you are using, to avoid rubbing in the rear arches; not so much a problem in the front

if your off roading doesnt involve much articulation then you could do without these 4 mods, but the car will drive better for them
