I run synthetic in the trans and regular lube in the t case. I change my fluids at least 3 to 4 times a year also. (thats about every 8-10k miles)

Mike
Why so often?

As some have aparently noticed I do abuse use ;) my rig to the fullest extent. My trans and tcase fluids seem to be burned, dark and light metal shavings after that many miles. I tend to run a lot of high rpms under load and wheel very often. In the winter the deep snow is really hard on the t case lube with a 4 to 1 case. Those t case gears are really spinning fast when your in 5th gear low range. Ive had smoke comming out of the breather tube and shifter boot before. (It was torn) I just feel better knowing that the simple things are taken care of. I dont think this would be nessicary of most drivers.

Mike

BTW, I dont think the flying is cause for changing t case fluid! :P

Doesn't syn. oil mess up the brass syncrows (very bad spelling).  I've used it in two tranys and both have lost their syncrow...

Ive never had a problem with that. Ive crushed the small bearing on the lower shaft a couple of times grabbing second gear though. Unfortunatly there is no oil that can help me with that yet. ::)
