fuel pressure reg question
« on: October 28, 2005, 11:36:02 AM »
Where is the fuel pressure regulator located on a 91 kick? As long as it is not in the tank, I'm good. Lookin to run a fuel cell and external pump. Also, what pressure does the system run at?

Thanks!  8)

Its on the front of the throttle body. Fuel pressure is around 38 psi, to be precise 265kPa above the pressure in the throttle body itself.

Excellent! Exactly what I needed to hear! Thanks!

Also, what is the pump rated at, PSI wise? Found a MSD fuel pump, but it is rated at 120 psi. Wondering if that would be a problem.

My tested fuel PSI was at 36 PSI, and
a higher capacity fuel pump (PSI wise)
will not matter, the pump supplies the
fuel and flow, the regulator "regulates"
the PSI. The stock fuel pump will supply
about 60 PSI before it's internal blow off
vents the pressure
