8V ECU will it work with same year 16v?

8V ECU will it work with same year 16v?

I can get a 94 4dr kick with a bad motor pretty cheap, and i can also get a 16v 94/95 motor pretty cheap.

Am i going to need a 16v ecu fort eh swap to my samurai or will the 8v ecu work?

The 8 valve ECU will not work with the 16 valve

Apples to oranges, doesn't have the programing to run the system.

The 4 door should be a 16 valve, buy them both and fix the foor door.

The four door is a 2wd and edmunds.com lists that model as a 8v engine.....as far as i can find on the net anyway.

And part of the reason for buying it is to get the ECU and other engine bay materials necc for a samurai swap, so if the ecu is not compatible there isnt much sense in buying it Im afraid.

If you can get someone to pop the hood maybe it is a 16 valve that would help right?
