Track/Kick front hub
« on: July 12, 2007, 05:50:36 AM »
Does anyone know if a 93 front passenger side hub will fit a 96 Geo Tracker, 2-
door, 4x4?  Somehow my son managed to break off two of the ears that the wheel studs
connect to. There are now only 3 lugs holding the wheel on.  The local junkyard has a 93 Kick, but I don't know if the hubs changed over the years.

As long as you match 2-door with 2-door parts, it should all be the same.  4-doors had bigger brakes, but the guts were pretty much the same too, i believe.

I found a hub out of a 95 4-door Kick today for $65.  It should be closer than the 93.  It looks the same, but I won’t know for sure until I try to install it.  The dealer (which is 20 miles from my house) wanted $128 and five working days to order it.  I’ll take some pics of the broken hub once I get it removed.

I found a hub from a 95 4-door Kick at Fred's Used Auto Parts for $65
(that includes $15 for them to pull it). I watched this poor guy
that had just moved here from Minnesota sweat like crazy while he
attempted to pull it. It took him 2-hours. This guy had no
mechanical ability at all. He took off way too much stuff when all
he needed to do was remove one c-clip. They gave me my $15 money
back because it took so long. It took me about 2 hours to remove the
broken hub and install the new hub. The hub looked exactly the same
as the hub in the 96 2-door. I did notice that the front rotor was
vented on the 4-door model, but it didn't change the hub at all.

I'd guess it got airborne (with a 1 wheel landing)
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.
