I'm looking for a little help. My calmini 3'' coils are worn out under the weight of my 4dr, I guess the winch and bumper are to much. It looks like I have 3 choices on new coils, what should i do???
1. New calmini 3'' coils
2. Boondoxmotorsports 3'' coils
3. OME 4dr heavy duty coils
I want to do the OME coils but, on the RR website it's only 1.5'' of lift.
What will work the best for me??

Not with a 3" lift they (OME) won't. I think you may want to stick with the 3" lift coils. JMO.

Get the OME coils and put spacers on top of them. Problem solved...sort of anyway.

If you want to use Old Man Emu then their XL-7 coils would be the ones to look at. They lifted my 2.0 V6 LWB Sport 3". The 1.6 is lighter so you would get a bit more with stock arms. The Calmini arms may reduce that a bit but you could always add spacers if needed. At some point I will try them in place of the Calmini springs to see how they work with the arms but it won't be for a while yet.

The only thing with the OME coils you may have a problem with is the spring rate. They may be a bit too soft, and sag some with the extra weight you have.

I used to run the ARB winch bar and an 8000lb winch and an Optima battery up front and never had a problem. I know Mike Hagen ran some OME GV coils at one stage in the front of his with a modified Calmini setup but can't remember the configuration.

ome gv coils would work great. they are built for the extra weight of the V6.

The calmini coils are alright but mine are starting to sag a bit as well.

Oh if you are ordering OME coils get the front struts as well. I just put them in on the weekend and holy crap what a difference! soooo smooth!!!!

I belive the coil I ran was a OME 962. It was a v6 GV auto coil. I also know someone who cut one ring off the Calmini coil which raises the rate and added a spacer to restore the height. It was cheap and has been a good long term fix for him.

Does it mater using the OME coil with the Calmini control arm? I don't think it will make a difference.

I have a set of the heavy duty sidekick front OME coils. they are used and i am asking 50 bucks plus shipping for the pair. i believe they are supposed to be 1.5"  lift as they were part of the 4.5" rocksteady kit from Rockyroad (2" body, 1.5" OME coil, 1 inch spacer)  In a couple weeks I will be selling the whole kit which currently has the V6 GV coils on it ( I did the hagan widening mod which drops the front a bit) which is why I swapped coils

I'm going to order the calmini coils, the old ones lasted me 5 yrs of hard wheelin'. This way, I know what i'm getting, and I know how they work.
