For the 3 or 4 bolt mount on the Pass side,
get that hollow section welded up full with
aluminum, it greatly increases the strength.
I know this is all bandaid stuff for the aluminum
diff housing, but these mods have worked for
me and kept the stock housing in the trucklet
for 275,000 miles, yes that's right, I never have
changed the origional front housing, and I would
probably never broke one of the bolt holes on
the Pass side if I had kept them tight, and filled
it in before it broke.
Last time the housing was out to fix my oil pan leak,
I put the longest bolts that would fit into the housing,
almost touching the center section with one, deeper
the better hold the bolt has, and the less likely to
break the aluminum.
