For the 3 or 4 bolt mount on the Pass side,
get that hollow section welded up full with
aluminum, it greatly increases the strength.

I know this is all bandaid stuff for the aluminum
diff housing, but these mods have worked for
me and kept the stock housing in the trucklet
for 275,000 miles, yes that's right, I never have
changed the origional front housing, and I would
probably never broke one of the bolt holes on
the Pass side if I had kept them tight, and filled
it in before it broke.

Last time the housing was out to fix my oil pan leak,
I put the longest bolts that would fit into the housing,
almost touching the center section with one, deeper
the better hold the bolt has, and the less likely to
break the aluminum.

I`m going to put an aluminum housing in one more time. Just because of cash. So I`ll try to brace the new one. I did notice the bolts come loose also. Would Locktite work for that? I`ll keep you guys posted how it goes. Thanks again.

Loc-Tite helps, last time I did this, I
got all new bolts, and the lower bolt was
longer than the others, I used extra long
bolts for the top that go all the way thru
to the hollow cavity on top of the diff

And the other one was just poking thru
to the inside of the opening where the
3rd lives, it can't poke thru much or the 3rd
will hit and not go in.

I used Loc-Tite and assembled the bracket
and the bolts before I installed the diff, torque
them and make sure to use washers or washered
bolts, the more surface the less it will want to
move, I wish I remembered the size of the lower
bolt (length) but I'm just guessing it's 45mm

Weld up the hollow between the 3 bolt holes,
and add some gussets to the rear ear on the
3rd to help prevent breakage, and don't dump
the clutch in reverse, that's a good way to break

I just noticed that the 3 bolt holes in the Calmini bracket on the passenger side arent exactly round anymore.  :'( Do you think this is a big deal?  ???  I have my sway bar hooked up now, does this help at all? The first time I broke a housing I was reversing up a hill, you wont catch me doing that again. The only other thing I`ve broke was 2 rear axles.

If they aren't round, they have been loose,
it could be a problem, keep those bolts tight.
I suggest getting the longer new bolts like I
said in the previous post
