why are there so many reports of bent valves and head replacements on 16v engines after a timing belt break then?
The car 16Vs are interference engines.....maybe that is what you have heard about. Or the 16V cam bearings (I know it doesn't have actual bearings, but it is where the cam rides on the head....so for lack of a better term...) gets rough and the cam hangs up and that is what breaks the belt, so that is why the head needs to be replaced.
I haven't ever seen, or even heard of, a trackick 16V bending valves. Although I do personally know some people that have checked the trackick 16V engine to see if it is an interference engine, and it is not.......so I am going by info I got from a reliable source.
