Right now i am running an exhaust i threw togather to wheel with.  its its like 2 1/2 right off the stock manifold. no cat.  it has NO LOW END ANYTHING.  it will be changed soon cuz it sucks so bad.  no crawling with it or it stalls.

 I've got 2 1/2" from the header all the way through the cat to the tail on my lwb. I have the 8v 1.6 head on a 16v 1.6 short block with the kick trans, kicker3, stock sammy case, 5.12s, and 35s. I have no problem with lugging the engine at low rpm crawling. I think that anything bigger than that would be detrimental, not beneficial.

yeah, thats me... a year ago... my hair is bigger than that NOW. I didn't mean to scare anyone, hell, that pic scares even myself... I'll find a 'nicer' pic... or even an AFROLICIOUS update without the lazy eyed psychoness!



I'm interested in swapping out my exhaust, even though the guy I bought it from replaced it, but I know that going to 2" would be great with the Thorely header thats coming, but whats this about Cat-Backs (remember folks, I'm a learner!) ? What is it, do I have one now and what does it do?

Technically, you do have a cat-back now, but that term is generally used to describe an exhaust system that only includes parts after the catalytic converter.
