Stock wheels off my 1990 Kick are 4" backspace. I have 33x12.5x15 on 15x8xw/ 3.5 backspace.  I wouldn't be worried about how much they stick out as to if they will rub on the inside of the wheel well and when turning or flexing. You can get wheel spacers if they are too close to the inside.  JMO.

You can get fender flares from JC Whitney but they screwed up the first two times. Guess I'll have to try a 3rd time.

Most local cops have their own ideas about tire width. Personally, I don't think there is a real problem with fat tires, its just when people go overboard with it, it really does become a safety issue (that the cops like to use as justification). Its like a lot of things. Retards that burn around town, baggin' the crap out of their vehicles are usually the type of people that 'want' fat tires. It's a stereo type that everyone suffers for. I lived in hickville for 5 years and the cops would always pull over the guys with the jacked up/pimped out fat tired rock flingers for trucks and show no mercy. It's like tinted windows... is there really a safety issue? You decide I guess, but people that abuse the previledges wreck it for everyone. No wonder cops are hardasses. They have to be or I'd just jack my truck up, pimp it out and run them the hell off the road.



jeez its sounds like I'm defending them or something! Not my intention! But I do see both sides of the issue man, and its a real piss off.

I've never had a problem with the law enforcement around here, most of which is due to the fact that the one town I go to every day has one police officer (it's that small) .

I, too can see the importance of not having the tires completely on the outside of the fenders or having the vehicle riding over the tires, but when it's just a Kick with 33's sticking out 4 or 5"... that'd just be plain annoying to get a ticket for. :-/

Sorry to hear that Hot Rod..  Winter months up here are bad for the Vultures pickin on vehicles without mud flaps or too much rubber outside the wheelwell. Summer they don't seem to care. I found these fairly inexpensive and effective..
