Thats why Im running theCalmini rear bumper/ tire carrier! My fricken tire tore my back door in half!  ::)

Mike

HaHaHaHaHa!!!  Yeah, mine just ripped the spare carrier off the back door.  I was waiting FOREVER for Calmini to ship that first production rear swing-arm bumper, but it was worth the wait!

The only remaining problem, is extending the "third brake light" above the spare, or putting it into the middle of the spare.  Haven't exactly TRIED to do anything with it yet - it's on my "to-do" list.

Do what I did on my 94 Sammy.  Remove the plastic and unscrew the light from the arm.  Fab up a piece of flat stock and either drill and bolt it as an extension, or like I did, weld it on.  You can extend it to fit a 33" tire.  Loosen the wire clamps to make enuff slack to let the light mount on the extension bracket.

I've been thinking about these spacers versus a 2" body lift and was wondering a couple of things:

1.  Are there any suspension geometry problems with spacers?  That is, will I risk pulling the axles out on the trail?

2.  Do 1-1/8" spacers give more, the same, or less lift (and tire fit) as a 2" body lift?  Would the 30's have fit beter with a body lift?

Well, I got the 30" spare on fairly easy.  I unscrewed the spare tire bracket, inserted several washers on the bottom and middle bolts to cause the bottom of the bracket to stick out further than the top.  I tightened the bolts back, sawzalled off about 3/4" of the rubber bump stops, and mounted the tire on.  I did have to bend the 3rd brake light back to fit the tire on.  As long as it doesn't rip the door off I think it just may work out.
Goin' to the ORV park Sat., so I'll found out!

The only problem with that is that it puts extra stress on your back door.  I cut out a section of the rear bumper so that the spare will fit.

So far (nock of wood) it hasn't stressed out the door and ripped the sheet metel.

That's a great pic, can I use that on my web site?  Who's the little munchkin?  :)
