Is his rear axle centered diff? Where did his Dana's came from? I'm looking at getting a set of Jeep Quadratrac axles from a CJ7; D30/AMC20 locally for $50. I've heard 5.38's are steepest available for the combo.

I got the info from Eric:
"they're 4.27 r&ps... the rear is
centered, axles are D30 and D44 from '73 CJ5."

That's the stock ratio for Jeep with the v8/3-sp combo back then. Friend had one 10 yrs ago.

So he running 1.6l, 5-sp or auto (?), Sami 6:1 t-case, running 4.27's on what looks like 35x15.50 Swampers?
Is it a daily driver? What is his rpm at highway speeds?
On his front suspension, he has the centered tri-link from the pics on ZOA's website. Does he have a track arm, couldn't see one? I wonder how much it wonders on the road at speed. The track arm is what locates the axle side to side under the truck. With the pitman arm pushing/pulling on the drag link to the passenger knuckle, there has to be something like the track arm to resist that push/pull effect.

What you're calling a track bar, we call a panhard bar. Tamayto, tamahto. LOL  That's the third link on the front. Stock 1.6 eight valve with a five speed.  You got the tire size right.  He says it drives fine, but he had those tires on his old Samurai too so he's probably used to them. Plus now he has power steering.  :)  One thing you don't see is the rear anti-sway bar.  Without it, the thing would tip over on flat ground!

Scout 2, or CJ5 narrow track axels are probabaly your best bet because they match a sidekick in width very closely.

As far as suspension goes, I dont have any good details. But If I were to do it, I'd go for coil all around.

Heather will probably be on the SAS this weekend. Not 100% sure about the height. We're shooting for about 4" taller than where she is now.
To say the least, she'll be done by Moab!
It kinda sucks, though. The front end I built for her truck, turned out waaay better than the one for mine! To say the least, her front is literally "BULLET PROOF!" It has 1/4" armor welded onto the front and bottom of the diff housing.

Take note: if the spare is laying flat in the back, how would he go about getting it out, yet alone getting the flat one back in?

Look at those steps on the sides. He probably steps on the rear tire, then steps on the step platform. To get out, he probably bungee cords.....
