Sammi suspension

what do people prefer and why.

what tyres are under it for what amount of lift

what is the strongest set up using leaf springs and not coils.

at what point do you stop lifting and have a stable truck

got a rolling chassis waiting to be modded and a wad burning a hole in my pocket
need at least 31-32" tyres under it but its gotta be strong and able to work hard

terrain will be a good mix of everything

THANX

here has been my progression.

Started with stock spring over lift (4-5" can't remember exaclty been so long), 31" tires ( some fit 32" with some rubbing).  little better flex than stock.  worked ok.

Went to a Ruf (rear springs up front) setup w/31" tires.  Flex improved alot.  Better ride.  little more lift (approx 6"), I also ran 1" wheel spacers to widen the track width to keep it a little more stable.  Could easily fit 32" tires. maybe 33's with moving axle forward 1".   This setup worked out well the only reason I change is because I got a set of YJ springs.

Now I am running the TT YJ kit on toy axles with 33" tires.  Great setup.  It is more pricey, and you need a trac bar, but I am going over stuff.  With the wider stance and no added lift (other than the bigger tire) now It feels more stable than my previous setup.

I have rears up front on one of my samurai's and it ramped a 944 last week with 33's and 2" back spaced wheels and stock shocks and double main leafs(for axel wrap) in the rear, I have the trail tough yj kit on the floor getting ready to put it in,you can run four leaf for flex with stock bushings or five leaf or the new six leafs that trail tough sells if you don't like the sway but want a great ride and use polly bushings for the street manners your looking for with just a little loss on the ramp(who cares)the springs trail tough sells are not that much more than used ones sell for(not on there web site, ask about them)I will be using a five leaf in the front and a four leaf in the rear with two main leafs and if the u bolts are long enough will add a second leaf to the top for axel wrap.

Running Sky's stage 2 lift with 1 " lift shackles and clearing 32's just fine.
Mean Green Wheeling Machine
88 Samurai 1" Shackles SPOA with 32" Tires
It's not a Jeep thing, it's not a Suzuki thing, or a Chevy,Ford thing.
It's a wheeling thing now get out and do it!
