hey heather, i noticed you've said that you've used the stock pitman arm and stock power steering box location. have you moved the front axle forward at all? if so, how much? and do the 35's clear the firewall, or have you tubbed it for clearance when turning???

Yeah, we moved the front axle forward some, I think just a few inches. Maybe 3 or 4? Um, I'll find out for you.

EDIT: from STOCK IFS, we're forward about 2-3 inches.

The 35's clear fine at the firewall, the only place where they slightly rub right now is on the Calmini bumper. We might have to get out the grinder and clearance that a little.

Since the FJ80 axles are wider, we don't have any problems turning. We had already clearanced the rear portion of the front outer fenders before we went SAS, to clear 33's.  So I bet that helps in some respect there. We don't rub on the frame or the shocks. It also steers nicely.

Thanks for all your guys' comments!!

So grab a tape and let us know what your current w.b. is and how wide it is on the out sides of your tires.  ;D

OK, so I took a tape out.

Looks like overall wheelbase (from center of front axle to center of rear axle) is 104".  Stock, out of the Suzuki User Manual, is 97.6".

From outside of tread pattern to outside of tread pattern on tire width- is 73". To outsides of bubble/sidewall tread (tires are at 30psi) it's 77".

:)

man that thing is wide, I think my sammy is only 55 inches wide stock and maybe 63 inches with my 33x12.5's on 2" back spaced wheels. should be stable off and on the road.
