« on: January 02, 2006, 11:51:15 AM »
hay guys  im going to be putting the 1.6L in the sammy with the sidekick
5 speed and a kicker3  what motor mounts would you use and which oil pan
the 1.3L or the stuff out of the sidekick 1.6L ?  also will i need to put a body lift on to
clear the 1.6l fuel injection so the hood closes  it looks like the 1.6l is a littel taller

        thanks

You will need a small body lift in the front, unless you cut the crossmember out of the hood.

You can use modified dodge 318 motor mounts, or buy an adapter kit from someplace like petroworks, they give you new motor mounts. If you have more than 3-4 inches of lift, don't worry about the oil pan, just use the 1.6L one.

If you get the petroworks kit you wont need a body lift.

Heres a novel idea......

Lots of Samurai owners make the switch to the 1.6.....Some of them start with two running vehicles before the swap, but ususally the donor zuk is trashed out or wrecked or something.

Has anyone ever tried to install the samurai engine into the donor vehicle?

Can it even be done?

just curious, i've been wanting a larger slower less powerful zuk...... :-)
