Rough idle/missing
« on: January 02, 2006, 12:38:15 PM »
Finally pulled the EGR and cleaned out all the black I could (I got the EGR code from Autozone and was trying to avoid $100+ for another one).  Reinstalled and went for a drive soon after and when sitting in the driveway it idled rough and almost died while sitting still.  Need a new one?
I also happened to check the coolant later that day (which I had just topped off a couple weeks ago) and the overflow was empty again.  Using coolant?  I haven't seen any puddles on the ground yet, but I parked it in the garage this time to check for sure.
Any help would be appreciated (before I trade it for one of the 4 doors I've found!).
Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,
my kick was ideling rough some time back,

and changing out the plugs and wires fixed it for me...

..I acually had a wire arching to the engine head.....

Not sure if you've tried this yet,

Are you getting any other error codes from your ECU?

Not yet.  No error codes have shown up since the EGR code.  Could a code show up without the check engine light coming on this time?
Any idea on the coolant disappearing??
Honestly, it probably could use a good once over (plugs, wires, belts, hoses, etc.).
Thanks for the input.
