Ok I had a bad clutch chatter so I put a new clutch/flywheel/pressure plate etc. and the chatter is gone but I don't get any feel in the clutch its like its on or off and when you pull away from a light and let out the clutch you get a BAM and then your off. It does it going into second as well. After that the driveline must take the shock.

Could it be my clutch cable?

Oh its a stock clutch no hi performance one or anything. I've had a centerforce before and its almost acting the same.

Sounds like the cable MIGHT be binding...  is there a hesitation between when you let the clutch out and engagement?

Sounds like either the cable is binding, or something in the release arm is binding..  and letting the cluth engage all at once, after you let the pedal out.

Yeah, binding OR the housing may be melted so the cable is crimping and you've adjusted that out of it to get it to work but all it will do is off-on. Check the cable around and above the exhaust while someone is actuating the clutch. See if it's crimping, (flexing).

They are pretty easy to install.  The toughest part is getting the adjustment set correctly...

Or the cable got into the power steering pulley and had a hole cut through the sheilding...oh wait that was me.

I think I gave 25 bucks for a replacement.  The only thing I didnt' like about the replacement is that it had a plastic firewall mount instead of metal like the factory, and it seems not quite as heavy duty generally, hasn't felt the same since I put the new one in.  Thought about trying a scrapyard for a metal one again.
