Yota to Zuki conversion in 2 days
« on: February 06, 2006, 06:28:02 AM »
My son lives in Colorado and he and his friend are Toyota boys. Both have lifted, big tire, rigs. Any way, he came to visit this weekend. All he did at first was talk about how tough his toy was. He thought my Tracker was cool but failed to take it seriously. Then we went wheeling. He rode with me and I took him to the nastiest trails I know of. He was amazed at the little trucks ability to do everything. Several times I heard a "No way? That was awesome! This thing rocks"

Later, my wife let him use her Sidekick (Mine was a muddy mess) to run around the area and visit friends. He probably drove it 150 miles or so. He said he couldn't believe how big they were inside and that it got like 30 MPG. Before he left we had a few more talks about Zuks. He said he wants to sell his Yota and get a LWB TracKick when he gets back to Colorado.

On his way home he called and asked me if I can make him a list of what I did to mine so he can copy it. Like father like son.  ;D

Yeah suzukis/geos get a lot of undeserved hate by the ignorant. I don't reall mind, because when I hang with rigs that cost 10x the amount mine cost, it really speaks for itself. Not to mention the guys in stock jeeps who talk s**t because of the hype around jeeps, then go out with me and end up getting pulled out again and again.

One guy with a lifted grand cherokee really wanted me to get a jeep when I was looking for a samurai a few months back, and made fun of me when I told him I had a samurai picked out already. First time we went wheeling, it was me leading the way and him struggling through stuff I rolled right through on my all terrains.

I also got some hate for my 60hp from a fullsize guy, but I laughed as my zuk climbed straight up a hill his dakota with a V8, 35"s, and a rear locker wouldn't even try.

Let them continue to hate us. It keeps the prices down.  ;D

We have always been close. Did everything together. Mountain biking, snowboarding, paddlesports, fly-fishing, bow-hunting, surfing, diving, 4x4 vans, etc. Then he met a cute girl and bam. Married and a 1000 miles away.  :'( Spent last summer and fall doing most that stuff solo. Not the same. I guess I'll have to go visit him in Colorado and do some rockcrawling in my Zuk?  ;)

LOL, my boy is just 11 (I was a late starter).. he hasn't liked the Tracky since I bought it, in his words...

"dad, it's just doesn't LOOK offroady"

.... but this morning, he saw the new tires, and I took him for a ride in the "ditch" on the way to school...

Now, he is starting to come around... LOL...

All my 4x4 buddies are Jeepers, or Full Sized...   After the last wheeling trip (the First with the Track) They all answer their phones when I call....... "*&%^ your GEO!!"     LOL....

They are SICK SICK SICK... madem look horrible last trip to the Acres...
