Change a 90 to use a 95 top????
« on: March 05, 2006, 05:19:37 PM »
Hello,

I was looking at a tracker on a car lot...Can I just get the rear hardware from a 95,and a new 95 top so that I can open the back and take out the side windows????I know that seems funny but I need a new top now and that's one of the things I liked about the 95 that I had.

I've heard you can swap out the hardware/tops but I'm almost positive you can buy that window version for the earlier models now.  I have the Sunport version on my '92 and the windows come out.  I highly recommend the Sunport if your looking for options!

Yes, you can open the back door without unzipping the window, just have to pull the plastic bar out of a couple of clips.  I usually don't bother clipping the bar on mine but I don't have subs  ;D.
I bought my Sunport top used.

Ah, heck.  Its packed up for winter and I'm running the regular full top.  The back window zipper is shot on the Sunport so I've only been using it in the summer.   The rear windows attach to the body the same as on the full top.  But it has a zipper and velcro to attach it at the back corner and top canvas, same as the 95+ tops.
