Are stock Sidekick Hardtops removable?
« on: March 09, 2006, 07:07:23 PM »
I've never owned one, I'm sure it can be removed to be replaced.  But is it designed to be removed easily?  Kind a like a jeep hardtop?

Basically, was it designed to be removed frequenty by the owner?

Thanks,
Ryan

i can take the front half of the hard top off at a traffic light and the back comes off in about 2 minutes. you do need 2 people to put the roof back on sometimes.

As long as you're talking about the fiberglass type hard top and not the steel-roofed "Tin top", yes, it's removable and decently easy to take off and put back on...
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

I live in Canada [ B.C. ] and I dont believe there is a 4x4 vehicle [ convertible SUV ] available with a better designed HARD-TOP in this Country. Suzuki's OEM top [ 2-piece ] is excellent in every category except safety [ possibly durability ] and is decent looking in my opinion. I have only owned one Sidekick [ 1991 HT ] but have had Jeep YJ'S [ 3 ] and they couldnt compare with  the style and easeability of the Suzuki unit. Jeeps feel more rugged for sure but  Sidekick's ETC are in their own class. Let me know if you find a 4x4 convertible that has a better system.

Now that I did not even think of, and I was looking at a steel roof (Picture).

Thanks for the clarification guys!  My wife insists that the top comes off when we buy one.

You also have many aftermarket choices like CALMINI and others that offer killer Hardtops for Suzuki's.
