canadian adventure trip
« on: March 13, 2006, 10:24:02 PM »
so i am planning an adventure series in canada and am testing the waters to see what kind of response i would get from people. the date will be in early august which is the best time to go out up in these parts. the trip itself will be a two day trip plus driving time to get up here. the trip will start about 3 hours east of vancouver, bc and end up not too far from where we started. the trip is not too challenging but provides beautiful views and the chance to explore some old mines. here is a link to the trip

anyone thats interested or has any questions just post a reply and i'll answer any questions.

thanks and hope to see ya this summer

Derek I saw your post on BC4x4 and sent you an e-mail to try and answer your questions.  Did you get it?  If you go early August you will get to see the wildflowers but you will also get lots of bugs.  We went 3rd weekend in August last year and there were almost no bugs at all however the flowers were gone by then.  We will be going on the 3rd weekend again this year.  Trail pics are here: http://photobucket.com/albums/v216/idredden/whipsaw/?start=0

Let me know if you have any questions that I can help with.

So, do you think there is a secure place that we could park our tow rigs? I'd hate to come back from a weekend on the trail and find my pickup gone. It just flattens the whole mood! :)

At first you were saying leave from a place 3 hours east of Vancouver now it's Vancouver proper?

Is there a mapping program that you could put a few way points on to help show where we'd be at? ... or something like that.

I guess I'm looking for a few more specifics so we can decide.

Thanks for your patience.

what i meant was the trail head is about 3 hours east of vancouver but we could meet in vancouver and convoy up to the trail head together as i have to drive thru vancouver from whistler to get there. i am working on getting a map or some way points together and i post it when i do. there could be a few places to park tow rigs just depending on how far you would want to drive your trail rigs. the closest town to the trail head would be princeton and it is about 40 miles from the start and the end of the trail.

i'll keep you updated as i get some mapping info
