« on: March 24, 2006, 05:59:20 PM »
Hello,

Just won these on ebay for $27 .  They came from a 96 tracker...Are these the ones that use the cone washers????If so I guess I'll have to find a set. Will my auto locking ones have the bolts and washers that I'll need?

Later Tom K.

Yep, thems have cone washers.  I think you'll find the autos have cone washers too.  It should be easy to spot them on your truck.  If they don't  see if the seller will throw two sets in on the deal...

Posting with brevity,

All the autos I have seen don't use cone washers,
but the washers could be tranfered to the other bolts,
but I don't know why you would want to to that

Without the cone washers, the bolts will continually come loose and possibly even end up allowing your hubs to fly off along the highway, never to be seen again... Ask Zig how I know this... LOL!(at least I think it was him that said he lost one...)
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

go to your local pick and pull, find a samurai or trackick with manual hubs, and take all the bolts with the cone washers out of them.
Runnin' it stock with 225/75R15s and an unmodified 8valve TBI motor (I need a doug thoroley header and a cam) (more power) (1.6 liters of madness) (vroom + sewing machine sounds)

Call Hawk suzuki. He has piles of them
trust me it's way worth it instead of wasting time in the wrecking yard..

But then again going to the wrecking yard for guys is like going to the mall for girls.. Never know what you will find that you can't live without!

Even if I was heading to the yard I would still get a set on the way from Hawk. Chances are you won't find all the washers or some crap like that in the wrecking yard..

Spare parts are good

Yup. Wild is right.  I checked a set of automatics that I have (shoulda checked before posting so I would know for sure) and the bolt-holes have flat sides instead of tapered.
