It is really all in the design of the spring. If the lift is achieved with a heavier spring rate then the ride is usually more harsh. A spring designed with the correct spring rate but formed with a higher arch should provide a ride about like stock. Too much arch however and the response of the spring will change and ride stiffer. A spring arched for 2" of lift shouldn't effect ride much unless the spring rate is also heavier.
Did you also add new shocks? If you did on-hook your shocks and see how responsive the springs feel when you push up and down on the bumper. Sometimes the shocks will be the reason for the stiff ride.
