samurai exaust.
« on: February 17, 2005, 02:08:38 PM »

I just recently got my samurai running and it feels gutless. I know not to expect much from a 1.3 but i have never driven one before this. I did notice that my muffler is compleatly rusted out and i was wondering if this could cause performance loss?
If its not broken, break it

if anything the bad muffler should give you more preformance(more free flow)I just put a header and complete 2" exhaust on mine, the old sytem pretty much fell off, it's like night and day differance. :)
When this thing hits 88 MPH your gonna see some serious sh!t (hahaha)

If your muffler is that rusted, couldn't it also be a clogged cat.?  I heard of a few people with this problem .

Thanks guys. When i really started diagnosing i found a bad spark plug, onl yletting it run on three cyl. If they do away with the emmisions before my next check it will probably get a straight pipe and a glass pack.

Make sure that whatever exhaust you put on has some sort of a Spark Arrester on it.  They are required by most states for protection against forest fires.
