i have a 95 tracker with the auto hubs, what is involved in switching to manual hubs?

Of course this article explains how to do a lot more than just  installing manual hubs.  It is also replacing the 3rd members to change your gearing and swapping axles in the front so you can run a locker.  If all you want to do is install manual lockout hubs you should be able to buy a pair from

I think I just got my Warn Premium Hubs at 4-wheel Parts Warehouse - about $95, if I recall correctly.

You will ALSO want to install the Spidertrax super Hub Bolt kit.  Yes, it requires drilling, and tapping, BUT they also include the correct drill bits AND the correct tap in the kit.

Does the Super Hub Bolt kit take care of the bolts backing out?  That seems slightly annoying.   Also I would think that your front CV's (assuming they are stock and lifted) would be going out before a hub bolt.  Are they really a weak link that needs to be upgraded?

I'm using the Superwinches on my XL7 and don't have a problem at all with them.
One benefit with SW is that they are warrantied for life of owner/vehicle. Break one, bring it back with the other, get 2 new ones.  Simple enough.

I suggest you keep the stock drive flanges in the vehicle for trail repair when you do actually do need to replace a broken lockout.

I have them on my 95 Kick and no problems

i have two pair of  manuals i'll trade one pair for the
automatics.all 4 have tapered cones [ just use loctite on the bolts]

I don't know about the superwinch hubs but my warn hubs do back out and I have keep an eye on it. The first time i noteised the problem my hub was about to fall off due to the fact that I had already lost 3 bolts and the rest were loose

I would also like to know if the spidertrax kit fixes this problem because $30 to fix this annoyance would be well worth it.
