McPherson Strut suspensions are very easy to modify. Coil over springs are readily available with unlimited rates and lengths, and strut bodies can be modifed for longer inserts easily. I did it on my rally car. (I think it cost me about $1200-1400 CDN, rough est, a few years back, including adjustable shocks).
This means only the rear might be a problem, but springs are easy to get custom made.
Unibody vehicles might not be good for modifying to single axle, or crazy crap like that, and you can't do body lifts, but I would think that a lift of 1-2 inches should be easily attainable. A suspension package would probably be better, though. Subframes might be able to be lowered? I am sure somebody will definately come out with a lift kit for the new GV!
When people bitch about changing to unibody frames, and changing to all wheel drive, they have to remember who buys new cars-it's not the people who hack up their frames and completely butcher up their vehicles so they can abuse them in the bush-it's people who want a dependable A-B grocery getter.
Just my 2 cents.
