Finally, scored a hood
« on: February 19, 2005, 01:37:04 PM »
I've been watching the local wrecking yards since I whacked a deer back in November, and I finally scored a hood.  Now I can get the Tracker put back together.

The only problem is the hood is so damm PINK!!!  It's too cold to paint it now, I'll have to wait for spring.  But it still looks better than the bent up old hood that I had held on with pins and spring clips...

Now I just need to trim down the '89 Kick grill to fit the '96 and get it mounted.

Where are these local wrecking yards?  The only place I've been is Victory.  When I was there in December of 03 they had 3 Trackkicks.  Glad to hear you are getting it put back together.  Are you planning on going to Zuki-melt in July?

I got the hood at Victory.  They only had the pink tracker and a tintop Sami.  Not much left of either one.

A bit closer to you, there are a couple just east of 31 on the road that runs parallel to 20 one block south.  Just get on 20, head east and turn right at that  traffic light  that feels like it is in the middle of an expressway...  (Do you know where I am going here?)  and double back west.  The first one is where I got my lights, grill and header bar.  They are more expensive than Victory, but when I was there they had about 5 or 6 Trackers, and not nearly as much mud...

Zukimelt is definitely on our schedule for this summer.  Will we see you there?
