well found out that I can succesfully drive the kick with the tires down around 10psi......on the street and highway....

I only checked it cuz my wife said oh it seems too ride nicer with the hard top off.....in all honesty the truck rides like shit....very choppy ride with the tires and the crown vic rears and shot front struts.....rides straight but with the tires at 28psi it bunny hops of road cracks....

has anyone ever used gabriel replacement struts.....i am looking for a oem replacement that is HD but not choppy....i would like a set of OME's but price and very little offroading is not worth it.

any help is appreciated.

Droping your pressure down to 10 PSI and regularly running on road will end up cupping your tread and ruining your tires. Depending on the type/size of your tires, you will probably need to run between 15 and 20 PSI to keep them from cupping.

I tried Stock replacements, whateve brand comes with the Calmini Kits and finally let Mike talk me into spending the green on a set of OME's. The difference is amazing to say the least. I would reccomend spending the little exta cash and getting the OME's

I now have mine set pretty good, running 30x9.5's, stock(and probably original) struts, no-name crown vic shocks, I have 20psi in the front and about 17psi in the rear. I dropped them to 13/14 & 15psi last weekend, but found it sluggish on take-off. Putting them to 25psi was way too hard for me. I'll be leaving them the way they are now for a while. It's really a trial and error thing depending on your area's road conditions, and your preference.

You might look at KYB's as well. They are a little cheaper than the OME's but, from everything I have heard they ride really nice. I am debating between the two of them myself right now.

i run the monroe sensa-tracks on the front of my truck and the bds shocks on the back. the back is a little bouncy over speed bumps but otherwise the ride is good for a short truck.
